Switch to Sunflower
Switching your checking account to Sunflower Bank has never been easier! The Sunflower Bank EasySwitch Pak includes all the forms you need to make your switch, including a Change My Automatic Payment form, a Closing My Previous Account form, a Direct Deposit Change form, and a Government Direct Deposit Sign-up form. Print or copy as many forms as you need, and fill them out to make the switch. It’s that easy! Follow the simple steps listed below.
Step 1: Open your new account at Sunflower Bank.
Stop by any Sunflower Bank branch to open a new checking or savings account. Remember to have the following items ready when you open your account:
- Your previous bank account information
- A valid driver’s license or other form of acceptable Identification
- Details of your existing automatic payments
- Details of your existing direct deposits
- A minimum opening deposit of $100
Just a note: When opening your account, all new account holders must be present.
Step 2: Stop using your old account.
Please leave sufficient funds in your previous account to cover any outstanding checks, ATM/debit card transactions, or automatic payments that may be charged to your account. It’s also a good idea to destroy any unused checks, deposit slips, and ATM or debit cards from your previous account.
Step 3: Change your direct deposits to Sunflower Bank.
Simply complete as many Direct Deposit Change or Government Direct Deposit Sign-up forms as needed. Forward them to the appropriate place to let them know you’ve switched banks. Include a deposit slip or voided check from your new Sunflower Bank account. It’s that easy!
Step 4: Change all of your automatic payments.
Change your automatic withdrawals and automated payment services using the Change My Automatic Payment form. Please include a deposit slip or voided check from your new Sunflower Bank account. Remember to include payments you may have made using your old debit card number, such as payments for online services. Print or copy as many forms as needed to make the switch.
Step 5: Close the account at your old bank.
There’s no need to visit your former bank personally. Simply complete and submit the Closing My Previous Account form to close your account. If you have a remaining balance after your outstanding checks have cleared, the bank will send you a check.
Step 6: Open a ‘Ready Cash Reserve’ to ease transition.
You may be eligible for a Ready-Cash-Reserve line of credit – with no fees or interest for 90 days! Simply consult your Sunflower Bank professional to complete an RCR application and see if you qualify. You may use this amount to ensure healthy account balance during your move.
Step 7: Enjoy using your new Sunflower Bank Account!
Congratulations, just a few simple steps, and you’re ready to go! You’ve switched to Sunflower, and may now enjoy all the benefits that come with your new checking account. It’s that easy!
