Sunflower Bank hopes to build on a solid decade of partnership with area schools – and more than $350,000 donated to schools – as the bank’s annual ABC: Be True to Our Schools campaign began its ninth year on January 1.

Sunflower Bank honored three employees who volunteered above and beyond in their respective communities in 2009 with the prestigious Volunteer Star of the Year.

Lawrence Central Spanish teacher Khalila Binns earned the Teacher of the Month award in November.
