• On October 3, 2008, FDIC deposit insurance increased to $250,000 per depositor, effective through December 31, 2013.

• On October 14, 2008, funds held in non-interest bearing transaction deposit accounts – personal or business – are insured in full by FDIC deposit insurance coverage. This increased coverage remains in effect until December 31, 2013, at institutions participating in the FDIC’s Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Sunflower Bank is participating in the FDIC’s Transaction Account Guarantee Program. * Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules. NOW accounts paying interest in excess of 0.50% are not covered by this program.

What does this mean for you?

• Coverage is automatic – you need to do nothing in order to get the higher insurance. The FDIC’s changes already have been impelemented and you currently enjoy higher coverage on your deposit accounts.

• Increased deposit insurance amounts help you save more money with Sunflower Bank, in several accounts, if you wish. That money is covered by FDIC deposit insurance.
