Ward, Lang bookend Bank Leaders of Kansas program
One Sunflower Bank commercial lender graduated from the prestigious KBA – Bank Leaders of Kansas program, and another began the 2009 program in January.
Marc Ward, Vice President of Sunflower Bank Wichita, completed program requirements and graduated from the third annual Kansas Bankers Association’s BLOK – Bank Leaders of Kansas.
By the same token, colleague Chet Lang, president of Sunflower Bank’s McPherson office, earned selection to the annual BLOK program’s fourth class beginning in 2009. Pictured, the pair pose with KBA Chairman Dave Herndon.
Each year, 10 Kansas bankers begin as participants in the BLOK class each January with a two-and-a-half-day session that includes attending the Harold A. Stones Public Affairs Conference and Legislative Cocktail Reception.
A leadership development program, BLOK is designed to improve the leadership skills of Kansas bankers through furthering bankers’ understanding of the KBA structure, legislative and regulatory processes surrounding the banking industry, and improving the bankers’ leadership and communication skills.
