Sunflower Bank ranked in Top 20 Community Banks
Sunflower Bank earned a rating as a Top 400 Performer among community banks throughout the U.S. – ranking in the top 20 among community banks with more than $500 million in assets.
The ICBA 400, compiled by the Independent Community Bankers of America, appeared in the organization’s trade magazine, ICBA Independent Banker, in June. Sunflower Bank earned its slot for posting one of the best year-end earnings performances in 2008 for community banks. Visit ICBA for more details.
“We’re pleased to be recognized among community banks dedicated to helping local customers thrive,” said Mollie Carter, CEO of Sunflower Bank. “We consider it our responsibility to help our communities’ needs, spending hours and resources helping our towns, businesses and families thrive.”
ICBA based its ranking on financial institutions’ year-end numbers and standard industry performance measures of return on assets and return on equity. Sunflower Bank measured No. 14 and No. 15, respectively, among Subchapter S community banks with more than $500 million in assets.
Numbers are compiled from year-end FDIC call report data, with separate performance rankings for Subchapter S-corporations and Subchapter C-corporations. Further details are available online at ICBA.org, with a search for Top 400 Performers.
“ICBA congratulates the community banks that made the ICBA 400 and commends them for continuing to safely and efficiently serve their customers and communities every day,” said Karen Tyson, ICBA senior vice president. “These community banks performed exceptionally well during a turbulent economic crisis, and remain the driving force behind economic recovery efforts on Main Street America.”
