Bank aids Dodge City school district
Sunflower Bank highlighted its commitment to the Dodge City school system by presenting a check to the USD 443 in the amount of $42,028 – the latest donation payout as part of Sunflower Bank’s issuance and purchase of 10 Qualified Zone Academy Bonds in amounts of $3.2 million.
Sunflower Bank serves as caretaker of the bonds, purchased in 2001 and 2002, with funds paid annually to USD 443 for improvements to existing district buildings, attendance centers, and transportation vehicles.
Donation payouts rise each year; from a beginning donation in 2003 of $3600 to $35,000 in 2008. Over the 10-year window of the qualified zone academy bonds, Sunflower Bank will donate nearly $300,000 to USD 443. Sunflower Bank is one of two major contributors to the project in the Dodge City community.

In May, Sunflower Bank Dodge City awarded nearly $2900 to USD 443 as donation resulting from the bank’s annual Be True to Our Schools Campaign. Throughout eight years of ABC: Be True to Our Schools, Sunflower Bank has donated $22,000 to Dodge City area school districts.
