New faces in Dodge City offices

Sunflower Bank announces the hires of Tim Waite as commercial loan and business development officer and Tristan Griffin as branch manager in Dodge City.

Waite and Griffin each joined Sunflower Bank in September.Waite is responsible for managing and developing commercial loan customers in Dodge City and Ford County. He also will assist in strategic planning and daily operations in Sunflower Bank Dodge City. Waite will be directly involved in community development efforts.

Griffin serves as branch manager of Sunflower Bank’s 819 South Second Street location. In charge of daily operations and bank personnel, Griffin also will serve as a mortgage and consumer lender for Sunflower Bank. Griffin recently attended commercial lending training sponsored by the Kansas Bankers Association, and he will aid Sunflower Bank’s commercial sales efforts throughout Dodge City.

Waite’s move to Kansas marks a return to his native Dodge City. A veteran of the banking industry with nearly 30 years of experience, Waite most recently spent 7 years as vice president and commercial loan officer for Old Second National Bank in Aurora, Illinois. Waite is a graduate of Bethany College in Lindsborg, and began his banking career as an examiner for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation while living in Salina. Waite also completed Commercial Lending School and Advanced Financial Statement Analysis Certification in Illinois. He is married to wife, Cheryl, and daughter, Alicia, currently attends Augustana College (Rock Island, Ill.).

A native of Cimarron and graduate of Friends University (Wichita, Kan.), Griffin recently worked as banking services manager for Bank of America’s Dodge City location before joining Sunflower Bank. Griffin counts six years of experience in the financial services industry, and is married to wife, Tina with sons Josh, 10, and Dominic, 5.

“Tim and Tristan are great additions to our team. Each has a strong background in customer service and banking expertise, and will be a great asset to Sunflower Bank – and the Dodge City community,” said Dave Wetmore, president of Sunflower Bank Dodge City.

Open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, Sunflower Bank offers personal checking and saving options, home loans, commercial loans, corporate services and trust and wealth management services.
