Sunflower expands into Missouri with office in Leeton

LEETON, Mo. – Mollie Carter, President & CEO of Sunflower Bank, N.A., headquartered in Salina, Kansas, announced today that Sunflower Bank has assumed all deposits of Bank of Leeton (Leeton, Mo.), beginning Saturday, January 23.

On Friday, Jan. 22, the Missouri Division of Finance announced the closing of Bank of Leeton’s sole branch in Leeton, Mo. The bank reopened on Jan. 23 as Sunflower Bank, the regional community bank’s 33rd location, and first in Missouri.

Depositors and account holders at Bank of Leeton automatically became Sunflower Bank customers on March 10. The location was the first expansion for Sunflower Bank since the family-owned organization acquired three offices in Pueblo, Colorado in 2005.

A $1.8-billion full-service regional community bank, Sunflower Bank was founded in 1892. A family-owned bank with 33 locations in 21 communities, Sunflower Bank’s home office is located in Salina, Kansas, with other offices located in Colby, Dodge City, Ellinwood, Great Bend, Hays, Junction City, Lawrence, Liberal, Manhattan, McPherson, Osborne, Russell, Topeka, Victoria and Wichita, Kansas, and Cañon City, Monte Vista, Pueblo, and South Fork, Colorado.
