Inc.com recognizes Carter for mentoring role
Sunflower Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Mollie Carter earned national recognition as one of 20 innovators featured in Inc. Magazine’s 2010 “Incubation Nation.
In May, Inc. highlighted business “incubators” from around the nation – initiatives and individuals who have contributed to ventures spun out of university research labs, or started by local entrepreneurs trying to supercharge their hometowns. Carter earned the spotlight in the Kansas City region, named one of 20 best business incubators around the country.
The national magazine highlighted Carter for her role as a mentor within the Kansas PIPELINE foundation, and Carter’s tutelage of Jan Srack. Carter was recognized for helping Srack commercialize a stereoscopic measuring tool used for collision repair. Srack’s company, Matrix Electronic Measuring, has raised $3.7 million – a breakout company, by Inc.’s standards.
Inc. is the nation’s leading magazine for business owners, with a focus on the people who start and grow private companies. Based in New York City’s financial district, Inc. is published monthly and also located at inc.com/magazine.
