Sunflower breaks ground at site of new headquarters

Sunflower Bank broke ground Tuesday at the future site of its new corporate office and operations center in its home base of Salina, Kan.

The facility will be located at 3025 Cortland Circle in Salina, just south of Schilling Road between South Ninth and South Ohio streets. The 80,000-square foot office building will house nearly 140 employees, with an expected open date of October 3, 2008.

Sunflower’s new corporate office will contain employees from several departments, including accounting, administration, call center, collections, deposit operations, correspondent banking, electronic services, human resources, information technology, investments, loan operations, marketing, security and training.

The office will be three levels with a basement, and capacity for more than 230 employees. It will house more than 60 private offices and 20 conference rooms, with a drive-through ATM on site.

Sunflower Bank’s 3025 Cortland Circle location was designed by Jones-Gillam architects in Salina and developed by South Ohio Land LLC. McPherson Contractors, of Topeka, Kan., is the contractor for the project.
