Who will be the next STAR of the week?
Sunflower Bank McPherson names a different Student-Athlete STAR of the week, each week, to be featured in the McPherson Sentinel.
Student-athletes are selected from a pool of nominees each week, from schools throughout the McPherson area. Athletes may play any varsity sport recognized by the Kansas High School Athletic Association, and need to exhibit exemplary leadership off the field, as well as excellence on the field (or court, or mat, or pool, etc.).
Winners are recognized each Thursday in the McPherson Sentinel and immortalized on Sunflower Bank McPherson’s Wall of Fame. Students also receive a commemorative edition of their Sentinel feature.
Know of a McPherson-area athlete who deserves the STAR of the week? Send us a nomination. Nominations should include student-athlete’s name, school, class, sport, extracurricular activities, and a short essay describing the student’s leadership on and off the field. We will follow up with respective area athletic directors before accepting nominations.
