What is it?
“Efficiency Kansas:“http://www.efficiencykansas.com is a low-interest revolving loan fund to
help Kansans make cost-effective energy-efficiency improvements to homes and small businesses.
The program channels federal stimulus funds through private businesses directly into local Kansas communities.As a public-private partnership, Efficiency Kansas benefits local economies and the state.

How does it work?
An energy audit provides both the diagnosis and the prescription for all energy-efficiency
improvements financed through Efficiency Kansas. The State Energy Office maintains the
list of Efficiency Kansas qualified energy auditors and provides oversight of audits and auditors.
Auditors identify energy-efficiency improvements for borrowers, and work with the lender and the borrower to devise the loan.
Who can borrow?
The maximum amount of funding for approved projects is $20,000 for homes and $30,000
for small commercial and industrial buildings. For small commercial and industrial structures, the
building must use residential-sized heating and air conditioning equipment.
The program is open to all Kansas homeowners or small business owners, regardless of their
income, for improvements to existing structures. Properties must be located in Kansas.
Recommended improvements will be tailored to fit the specific conditions of each building.
Approved projects may include adding insulation, sealing around doors and windows, and
replacement of heating and cooling equipment.
All financed improvements must be recommended in the customized plan and approved by the
