Sunflower Bank Serves as Title Sponsor for Annual Livestrong Challenge in Austin

Sunflower Bank and The Livestrong Foundation share a building in Austin, TX that ties us together, but the similarities between our two organizations go far deeper. Both organizations have a passion for supporting the people in their respective communities. For Sunflower Bank, community means the people and businesses in the markets in which we live and work. For The Livestrong Foundation, their community is one they’ve helped establish, cultivate, and empower: cancer survivors. Both Sunflower Bank and The Livestrong Foundation have made substantial impacts on our communities and, for one day each year, our passion overlaps through the Livestrong Challenge, an outstanding annual event put on by The Livestrong Foundation.

The Livestrong Challenge takes place each fall and Sunflower Bank is proud to be the presenting sponsor of Livestrong's signature fundraising event for cancer survivors. The Livestrong Challenge empowers cancer survivors through daily challenges and encourages others to support their efforts by challenging participants to complete a physical challenge in the heart of beautiful downtown Austin, TX.

About the Livestrong Challenge

Runners, walkers, and cyclists converge on downtown Austin to tackle the different physical challenges of their choice. Cyclists have options of 20-, 45-, 60-, and 100-mile routes through the Texas Hill Country, while runners and walkers stay downtown to complete either a 5K or a 10K around Lady Bird Lake. All challenge participants finish at Auditorium Shores for local food, drinks, and fun with other participants and their families.

As the presenting sponsor for the event, Sunflower Bank’s support included employee participation, event promotion, and event day support in the Livestrong Challenge Village.

We are proud to play a part in the success of this event to help raise money for cancer survivors and their families. Our team looks forward to future opportunities to support this cause and the Austin, TX community.
