Sunflower Bank, N.A. Announces 2024 Community Impact Year in Review

May 23, 2025

We are proud to recognize the continued dedication of our employees and Community Affairs Office throughout 2024 and into 2025. Last year was marked by deepened community relationships, impactful alignment, and meaningful service across our footprint. In its third year, our Community Affairs Office continued its integral role in promoting volunteerism, philanthropy, and equitable development across our communities in Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Texas, and Washington.

Throughout 2024, the Community Affairs team collaborated across markets to deliver results-driven community engagement initiatives that supported employee volunteerism, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)-related programs, community lending and investment, charitable giving, community partnerships, and access-oriented financial products.

Highlights of our 2024 community impact include:

Volunteerism

Sunflower Bank, N.A. employees dedicated more than 7,000 hours to community service in 2024. These volunteer hours included participating in and facilitating financial literacy programs, partnering with local coalitions and boards for volunteerism events, and hosting/supporting other activities qualifying under the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).

Community Lending and Investments

In 2024, Sunflower Bank, N.A. provided more than $45 million in community development lending and over $43 million in community development investments. These investments supported impactful initiatives like the Willow Estates Affordable Housing Development in Colby, KS and helped further affordable housing, small business support, and community infrastructure.

Charitable Giving

Our commitment to philanthropy grew stronger in 2024 with more than $500,000 in charitable donations provided to organizations that serve low-to-moderate-income individuals and small businesses across our markets. This includes $80,000 to the nineteen winners of our second annual Community Partner Awards. The award amounts range from $2,000 to $15,000 and winners are determined by our employees and community members across our bank footprint.

As we move through 2025, Sunflower Bank, N.A. remains committed to increasing our community investment and strengthening our service presence throughout the neighborhoods we call home.
