Sunflower Bank Expands its Business Focus with Innovative Hires

Wichita, KS, September 1, 2016 – Sunflower Bank has hired tax accounting veteran John Trowbridge and consultant Marc Milleson to expand its commercial portfolio in innovative ways to provide comprehensive traditional and non-traditional banking solutions.

“Our customers are looking for resources to help them meet their daily demands and offer advice on how to meet their longer-term goals,” commented Evan Funk, Wichita Market President. “Our approach goes beyond the scope of traditional bankers. We are looking for ways to help clients by participating as more of a partner in their business while providing the innovative solutions they’ve come to expect from Sunflower Bank.”

Trowbridge’s knowledge and experience in accounting brings a new focus to the team approach adopted by Sunflower. “I am passionate about helping individuals and businesses achieve their goals and overcome obstacles. The opportunity at Sunflower provides the flexibility and resources to add additional value to my clients,” relayed Trowbridge. “Sunflower’s desire to build a team that can truly operate in a consultant capacity, along with their mission to create possibility in the lives of their clients is appealing, and ultimately persuaded me to take on the next evolution of my career.”

This is a role not traditionally seen at banks. “The approach at Sunflower to actively seek business partners is something I am excited about and matches my own strengths,” said Milleson. “I enjoy getting to know people and their needs and then offer solutions to help them achieve their objectives.” He brings over seven years of experience in the financial and insurance industries, where much of his focus was on recruitment and development of advisors and agents. He takes a consultative approach to get to know potential clients and then brings the appropriate banking professional to the table to meet the needs of the customer.
