Medical & dental insurance
As a Sunflower Bank employee, medical and dental coverage is available to you on the first day of the month following hire date.
Plan options through Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Kansas. You may choose from 50/50 co-pay with no deductible, or a high deductible health plan, which qualifies for a Health Savings Account.
Supplemental insurance / Flexible spending accounts (FSAs)
We offer several supplemental insurance products to all employees through AFLAC. Two types of Flexible Spending Accounts are also offered: Medical FSA and Dependent Care FSA. AFLAC eligibility begins on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment.
Group term life insurance
Full-time employees are eligible for group term life insurance on the first day of the month following three months of employment. Premiums are paid by the bank.
Long-term disability insurance
After three years of employment, full-time employees are eligible to receive 70% of pre-disability earnings. Premiums are paid by the bank.
Voluntary accidental death & dismemberment insurance
Full-time employees are eligible for this insurance coverage on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment. Premiums are paid by the employee.
Wealth savings plan
After meeting plan eligibility requirements, Sunflower Bank contributes approximately 8% of your compensation to a wealth savings plan. You must have completed one year of service and be at least 21 years of age. The plan has a graduated seven-year vesting schedule.
401k plan
Full-time employees are eligible to start contributions to a 401k plan after three months of service. After one year of employment, the bank will match up to 4% of your contribution. You are always 100% vested in both.
Vacation
Full-time employees receive ten days of vacation after one year of employment. Part-time employees receive five days after one year of employment. After ten years, all employees receive five additional days.
Sick leave
Full-time employees receive eight days of sick leave every year of employment. Part-time employees receive four days every year. Unused sick leave may be carried over to a maximum of 40 days.
Volunteer/parenting leave
Sunflower Bank encourages all employees to be connected to their families and communities. You may use two hours per month for volunteer/parenting leave.
Personal leave
Effective from the first day of employment, fulltime, non-exempt employees receive personal leave time at the rate of eight hours of per year, 16 hours per year after five years of service.
Holiday leave
Sunflower Bank has nine paid holidays each year.
Tuition reimbursement
Full-time employees are eligible for up to $1,500 reimbursement towards their tuition. Eligibility begins after one year of service.
