Sunflower Bank Promotes Dino Camuñez to Regional President for Arizona
March 18, 2026
Phoenix, AZ – We are pleased to announce the promotion of Dino Camuñez to Regional President for Arizona. Camuñez was instrumental in establishing Sunflower Bank’s de novo presence in Scottsdale in 2017 and has driven significant growth since that time. In this role, he now leads regional market strategy, guides local relationship teams, and drives the growth of the bank’s middle market commercial banking and private wealth relationships across the Phoenix metropolitan area.
“Dino embodies the values that define Sunflower Bank. His teamwork approach, market expertise, and passion for serving our customers have made a lasting impact on our Arizona footprint. We are excited to see him embark on this new role and continue building a best in class team in the region,” stated Bo Scott, Chief Banking Officer at Sunflower Bank.
Camuñez has more than three decades of leadership experience in the Arizona banking community. He was one of the founding principal members of a regional bank in Arizona, serving as the founding President and Chief Executive Officer when the bank opened in November 2008. He remained there until 2017, when he joined Sunflower Bank as Managing Director in Scottsdale. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles in Private Banking and Wealth Management at two national banks, serving the Phoenix market since 1989.
“Arizona represents a tremendous opportunity, and with the full support of our executive leadership team, Sunflower Bank is equipped with the resources needed to accelerate our growth and serve the Phoenix metropolitan area,” said Camuñez.
Camuñez is a five-time Sunflower Bank Award of Excellence winner, recognized for his financial result performance that meets or exceeds key financial and teamwork metrics for Commercial Banking. Community service and philanthropic leadership have been central throughout his personal and professional life. He co founded Camp HONOR (Hemophiliacs Overcoming New Obstacles Resourcefully) in Prescott Valley, which serves more than 100 young Arizonans annually.
He is Chairman Emeritus of Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where he served on the board for over a decade. Camuñez is a former Chairman of the Board for CPLC (Chicanos Por La Causa), one of the largest community development corporations in the state, focused on advancing health and economic opportunity in underserved communities. Additionally, Camuñez is Chairman of the Board of Child Crisis Arizona and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. He has been recognized as an Outstanding Alumni of the New Mexico State University (NMSU) College of Business and served approximately 10 years on the NMSU Foundation Board of Trustees.
