Sunflower Bank Welcomes Everett Orrick as Market President for the Inland Empire

July 21, 2026

Ontario, Calif. – We are pleased to announce that Everett Orrick has joined our organization as Executive Vice President and Market President in California’s Inland Empire. Building on the momentum of Sunflower Bank’s Inland Empire expansion, which began with the launch of its local commercial banking team in April 2024, Orrick’s addition reinforces the Bank’s commitment to growing its middle market business through relationship-driven service and best-in-class banking solutions.

In this role, Orrick leads Sunflower Bank’s commercial and industrial (C&I) strategy in the Inland Empire, delivering tailored financing and treasury solutions to business clients. His leadership strengthens the Bank’s ability to support growing companies through a consultative, relationship-driven approach. He is based at Sunflower Bank’s Ontario corporate office.

Sunflower Bank’s holding company, FirstSun Capital Bancorp (“FirstSun”) completed its acquisition of First Foundation Inc. on April 1, 2026. As a result, First Foundation Bank has merged into Sunflower Bank and Irvine-based First Foundation Advisors is a wholly owned subsidiary of FirstSun. This merger greatly expands Sunflower Bank’s footprint and capabilities in California.

Orrick brings more than 30 years of experience developing and leading commercial, corporate, asset based lending, and wealth management platforms throughout California. He has a strong track record of building high-performing, client-focused teams dedicated to helping businesses grow through strategic financing solutions. Most recently, Orrick served as Regional Director of Commercial Banking for a large California-based financial institution and previously held the role of California Chief Executive Officer for a multinational banking organization.

“Everett is a proven leader with deep commercial banking experience and a strong client-first mindset,” said James Canepa, Regional President at Sunflower Bank. “As we expand in California following the First Foundation merger, his leadership will be vital to growing our Inland Empire market and delivering tailored solutions to middle market clients.”

Orrick is actively engaged in the business community, with longstanding involvement in the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) chapters across Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Inland Empire. He also serves as Chairman of the Board for Linc Housing, a nonprofit organization that has developed more than 10,000 affordable housing units throughout California. Orrick earned his bachelor’s degree and MBA from California State University and is also a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.

“I am pleased to join Sunflower Bank to grow our Inland Empire team,” said Orrick. “We will leverage the Bank’s strong credit culture to deliver thoughtful, creative financing solutions to the diverse middle market companies that make up our regional economy.”
