Hays, Kansas

About This Branch

Hays is the largest city in northwestern Kansas with a population of 20,500. Our community was founded in 1865 as a fort to protect stagecoaches. We're the county seat of Ellis County and are home to Fort Hays State University, one of the largest universities in the state. Today, Hays is a commercial and educational center for western Kansas.

Sunflower Bank has been a major contributor to Fort Hays State University, North Central Technical College, USD 489, Thomas More Prep High School, and the Hays Medical Center Foundation. We support the United Way of Ellis County and the Health Care Professional program at Hays Medical Center. We also participate in CASA, Big Brother Big Sisters, St. Joseph Food Pantry, First Call For Help, Teaming Up for Tots, Jana's Campaign, Soroptomist, St. Francis Community Services, Community Assistance Center, and Options. We love taking part in annual events like the Hays Humane Society Soup R Bowl and the Hays Medical Center Benefit Fair. We serve on the boards of Soroptomist, St. Fidelis Charitable Fund, Hays Chamber Ambassador, and the Holy Family Home & School Association. Come see us!
