Sunflower Bank’s Sponsor Finance & Leveraged Lending group is a specialty lending vertical within the Corporate Banking division. Our team specializes in supporting family offices, private equity sponsors, SBIC’s, and independent sponsors in the lower middle-market across the United States. Our focus is on platform acquisitions, add-on acquisitions, recapitalizations, mergers, and growth investments, targeting businesses with EBITDA between $5 - $15 million.

Our team brings more than 50 years of combined experience in sponsor finance and leveraged lending with expertise in structuring and underwriting cash flow loans for sponsor-backed companies.
Investment Criteria & Deal Size
- Stable cash flows, high gross margins, and predictable revenues
- Headquartered in the U.S., with proven management teams and defensible business models
- Demonstrated ability to generate EBITDA above $5 million
- Hold positions of $5 to $30 million in loan commitments per transaction
- Ability to arrange and syndicate up to $200 million in loan commitments per transaction through our capital markets platform
